The upcoming Bollywood movie 31st October starring Vir Das and Soha Ali Khan attempts to trace the aftermath of the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984 and the backlash against the Sikh community in India. Since it is based on a true incident, the makers shot it at real locations, including Delhi and Punjab. The trailer opens with Vir Das, who looks quite convincing as a turban clad Sikh, calling up people for help so that his wife (played by Soha Ali Khan) and his two kids do not meet the ill fate which many Sikhs saw. The movie has won appreciation at the Vancouver International Film Festival, London Indian Film Festival and many other national and international platforms. The film is scheduled to release on October 7.
