Mohanlal-Priyadarshan’s Oppam, in which the superstar plays a blind man, is one of the much-awaited films of the year. The movie, scripted and directed by Priyadarshan is a crime thriller, which narrates a murder that is being witnessed by a blind lift operator. Anusree essays a police officer in this movie. The actress is sharing the screen with Mohanlal, for the first time in her career. The movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor, under the banner Aashirvad Cinema. Samuthirakani, Vimala Raman, Nedumudi Venu, Mamukkoya, and Arjun Nandakumar are playing other important roles.
Prithviraj’s Oozham, the next anticipated movie releasing the same day which is written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, marks the second collaboration of Prithviraj with the director after Memories. The movie which carries a tagline "It's just a matter of time," narrates the story of surya played by Prithviraj who considers his family as the most important thing in his life. But, an unfortunate incident changes his life upside down. Oozham stars Divya Pillai and Rasna Pavithran in the female leads. Balachandra Menon, Seetha, Neeraj Madhav, Irshad, Kishor Satya, Pashupathi, Jayapraksh, etc. appear in supporting roles.
Welcome to Central jail which is set to release on 9th September marks the reunion of Director Sundar Das and Dileep after 13 years. The movie is touted to be a full length comedy entertainer. The movie revolves around the central character Unnikuttan, played by Dileep. He goes to jail on charges of a crime which was not done by him, but soon starts to enjoy the life in the prison. Vedhika, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Suraj Venjarammodu, Aju Varghese, Kalabhavan Shahjohn, Sharafudeen, Vinaya Prasad, Thesni Khan are playing other important roles. The movie is produced by Vyshakh Rajan and scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam.
