‘Sallapam’ was a movie, which gave a real break in the career of Dileep. Who can forget ‘Junior Yesudas’ (Sasikumar), the character done by Dileep. His chemistry with actress Manju Warrier was also well appreciated. The movie was directed by Sundar Das. After Sallapam, they joined hands for Kudamattom, Varnakazhchakal and Kuberan. Their last movie was ‘Kuberan’ in 2002. Now, after a gap of 13 years, they are joining hands again for the movie ‘Welcome to Central Jail’.
Another peculiarity of the movie is that, Dileep will be sharing screen with actress Vedhicka. This will be also a comeback for Vedhicka to the Malyalam movie industry. She had earlier worked with Dileep for the movie ‘Sringaravelan’. Her last Malayalam movie was ‘Cousins’. Said to be a comedy flick, ‘Welcome to Central Jail’ is penned by ‘Benny P Nayarambalam’.
The movie lovers can now hope for a good entertainer like Sallapam and Kuberan. Dileep is also getting good projects recently. His last releases Chandrettan Evideya and Life of Josutty were well received in the theatres. He is also waiting for his upcoming release ‘Two Countries’, in which, he will be pairing with Mamtha Mohandas.
