Malavika Nair, who got Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist in ‘Karutha pakshikal’ is making her second entry in Dafedar. The movie is written and directed by Johnson Esthappan. In this flick she will be played the role of a home nurse Aami. Tini Tom will play the role of 65 year old Ayyappan. Devan, Sudheer karamana, Jayakrishnan, Kalabhavan Rahman, Indrans, Kavitha Nair are playing other important roles. ’Dafedar’ is produced by Jickson Thekkumthala under the banner of Eden Films. Cinematography is handled by Sudheer K Sudhakaran. The lyrics by Rafeeq Ahmed are composed by Ilaiyaraja. The story is based on the real life of Ayyappan who is the security personnel (Dafedar) of the Collector for the past 40 years. Retired Ayyappan has nowhere to go, no relatives. So even after retirement he dresses himself in his official dress and goes to the Collectorate every day. ‘Dafedar’ narrates the story of honest, sincere, and compassionate Ayyappan.
