Director Mani Ratnam’s most ambitious project ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ had gone on floors last week in Thailand. The movie is considered to be the director's dream project and was in the pre-production stage for almost 1 year. Now, we have new updates regarding the project.
‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is based on the novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The novel was written long back in the 1950s. Since then many directors and actors tried to make a movie out of it. Unfortunately, nothing got materialized. Now, Director Mani Ratnam has taken up this task and the project will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The makers of the movie have disclosed the cast and crew of the project. The movie will feature, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Trisha, Vikram Prabhu, Prabhu and Sarath Kumar in important roles. Few more stars are expected to join the cast in the coming months.
The music of the movie will be composed by Music Maestro A.R Rahman. Veteran lyricist Vairamuthu is expected to write the lyrics for the movie. Cinematography will be handled by Ravi Varman and the editing will be done by Sreekar Prasad. Writer Jeyamohan has penned the dialogues and Thotta Dharani and Wasik Khan have handled the artwork for the movie. The expectations are very huge for the movie.
