Director Aashiq Abu is one of the promising new generation directors in Malayalam film industry. The director’s recent movie ‘Virus’ dealing with the outbreak of Nipah Virus in Kerala was widely accepted and critically acclaimed. Now, the director has started working on a new project.
Aashiq Abu’s much-hyped movie with Megastar Mammootty was ‘Gangster’. The movie which got released in the year 2014 was a big disappointment at the box-office. The director had later admitted that the movie didn’t place properly as per plan. Now the director is planning to rework on the movie and to make a better version of ‘Gangster’. Syam Pushkaran will be writing the script for the movie and Dileesh Pothan would be providing the inputs.
As per reports, the movie is expected to be a sequel to the original one. The makers have planned to start the shooting of the movie by early next year. Still, there is no confirmation from Megastar Mammootty’s side whether he will be part of the project or not. Anyway, we can eagerly wait for new updates of the movie soon.
