Kayamkulam Kochunni which hit the theatres on October 11th has turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. The film has been well received by critics and audience alike. Now we have an interesting update regarding the movie.
The makers are planning to release the movie in China. Yes, the makers are eyeing the China market, if everything falls right Kayamkulam Kochunni will be the first Malayalam Movie to have a release in China. China has become a favorite spot for India movies and success of films like ‘Dangal’, ‘Secret Superstar’ and ‘Baahubali’ have inspired many filmmakers in India to release the movie in China.
Kayamkulam Kochunni movie deals with Kerala’s real-life Robinhood figure Kochunni. The movie was directed by Rosshan Andrrews and scripted by Bobby-Sanjay team. Actor Nivin Pauly played the title role and Superstar Mohanlal appeared in the extended cameo role as Ithikkara Pakki. The movie was produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner Sri Gokulam Films. As the film deals with traditional martial art Kalaripayattu and real-life story, the makers are confident that the movie will be well received in China.
