Popular production banner August Cinema announced big surprise. Mammootty is all set to join hands with August Cinema. The film titled as Pathinettam Padi. The movie is debut directorial venture of actor and writer Shankar Ramakrishnan. August Cinema shared Mammotty's charcter poster in their official page. Mammootty will be seen essaying a character named John Abraham Palackal. The film shoots begins on the month of May. Earlier Mammooty and August Cinema team up for Kadal Kadannoru Maathukuutty, The Great Father etc. Meanwhile August Cinema will also be producing the much awaited big budget venture Kunjali Marakkar, to be directed by Santosh Sivan and starring Mammootty in the lead role.
