The academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has revealed the list for next year's original song category. This is a proud moment for the Mollywood film industry, that among the list of 70 eligible songs, two songs are from the Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan. To be eligible, a song must contain both words and music and be specifically written for a film released this year. 'Kaadanayum Kaalchilambe' and 'Maanathe Maarikurumbe' are the two songs’ in the selected list. Gopi Sunder has composed the music. Pulimurugan has been directed by Vaisakh and produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam under Mulakupadam films banner. Earlier, Mohanlal's 'Guru' has been selected as India's official entry to the Oscars for the Best Foreign Language Film category.
