Tamil Nadu govt. announces state film awards for six years!

The Tamil Nadu state government have announced the state film awards for the years 2009-2014. TN state awards were last given in 2008 and the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had promised last year that they would be brought back in a grand manner. The current chief minister Edappadi Palanisamy announced the awards on yesterday. The minister also added that a grand function will be organized soon. Padmapriya won 2009 best actress for Pokkisham. In 2010 - Amala Paul for Mynaa, 2011 - Iniya for Vaagal Sooda Vaa, 2012 - Lakshmi Menon for Kumki, 2013 - Nayanthara for Raja Rani and in 2014 - Aishwarya Rajesh for Kakka Muttai. Best actor in 2009 was Karan for Malayan, in 2010 – Vikram for Kanthaswamy, 2011 – Vimal for Vaagai Sooda Vaa, 2012 – Jiiva for Neethane En Ponvasantham, 2013 – Arya for Raja Rani, 2014 – Siddharth for Kaaviya Thalaivan.
