Veteran Bollywood actress Reema Lagoo passed away due to cardiac arrest in Mumbai at 3:15 am. She had been taken to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Andheri, Mumbai. She was 59. Reema Lagoo's son-in-law said, "She was complaining of chest pain so we took her to hospital around 1 am. However around 3:15 am she passed away due to a heart attack.” The actress started her career in Hindi and Marathi films in the late 1970s and early 80s. She was known for playing the on-screen mother to protagonists in hit films like 'Maine Pyar Kiya', 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' and 'Hum Saath-Saath Hain'.
