Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan, which released amid huge expectations is continuing its success journey in theatres even after the demonetization issue. According to reports, the movie is gaining great collection outside Kerala. Pulimurugan directed by Vysakh is about an ordinary man who happens to be expert in hunting down tigers. The climax sequence between Mohanlal and tiger is the biggest highlight of the movie. Produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam, Pulimurugan has become the first Mollywood movie to enter 100 crore club and also the first Indian movie to achieve this even from a small budget. It is also the first Mollywood film in Kerala to have 858 shows on its opening day. The movie raked in Rs. 4.05 Crore on its opening day and Rs. 4.02 Crore on its second day, taking its total opening weekend collection of RS. 12.91 Crore. The big budget movie with a production cost of Rs 25 crore was released on 7th October. The technical brilliance used in the film is the main reason behind such an enormous reception among the viewers. Multiplexes of Kochi and Trivandrum are almost houseful on most of the days and the ticket rate there is one of the reason behind successful profit. Peter Hein, the stunt choreographer of Pulimurugan, has been receiving acclaims for his intense research on tiger’s body language and behavior. The actor shared his happiness over the big success of the movie with director Vysakh, Producer Tomichan Mulakupadam, Stunt director Peter Hein, Scipt writer Uday Krishna, Cinematographer Shaji and Music director Gopi Sunder. The actor also thanked entire crew for their effort in making Pulimurugan a great success. An opinion has raised before the release of Pulimurugan that a big budget film is a huge experiment while considering the commercial success of Mollywood movies. Vysakh said he was happy that he could prove that technically superior films involving huge production costs were feasible in Malayalam too.
