Actress Amrutha Balamurali who rose to fame after Maheshinte Prathikaram is all set to debut in Tamil with a crime thriller. The movie titled ‘8 Thottakal’ will be directed by Sri Ganesh. The actress will be seen in a journalist avatar. "The film is set in Chennai and we have been shooting for the past few months. Aparna is a bold media person in the movie and through her life, we show how an independent girl survives in a big city" director said. Vetri is the male lead in the film. Aparna is excited about her Kollywood debut and she says, "I signed the film as I liked the theme. My character Meera is quite unlike anything I have attempted so far."
