STORY
The story of Pinneyum revolves around Purushothaman (Dileep) and Devi (Kavya Madhavan), who are a married couple. Devi is a school teacher whereas Purushothaman is still in search of a job. The financial crisis forces him to go to Gulf regions, in search of a job and the changes that happen when he comes back, forms the crux of the story.
REVIEW
The film shows how job crisis and greed for money would affect the life of a common man and in turn their families.
Dileep have done a solid performance as Purushothaman Nair. His dialogue delivery and the body language is superb. Kavya Madhavan makes a strong comeback in the role of Devi. Other cast including Vijayaraghavan, Nedumudi Venu, Srinda Arhaan and Indrans have also done their part well.
It is the 12th film of Adoor Gopalakrishnan and he has delivered a storyline that is different. In fact, the director this time has opted for a simple narration with a slight touch of commercial elements. There are some trademark Adoor Gopalakrishnan scenes, which have symbolic elements associated with them. At the same time, the dialogues could have been less dramatic. The slow pace might test the patience of the viewers of commercial cinema, but that is Adoor Gopalakrishnan's approach towards cinema. Editing by B Ajith Kumar is top-notch.
