REVIEW
The actor par excellence and the director have come together to give people a crime thriller. Priyadarshan's Oppam has a few elements to create some entertainingly 'tensed' moments through its length.
The film has an engaging first half that makes you wait for the investigation to reveal and discover how Jayaraman turns out of the situation. In second half, there were some Priyan style comedies.
Mohanlal, who plays jayaraman has delivered excellent performance as an elevator operator. Mohanlal's class performance is the backbone of this film. Vimala Raman, who made a comeback to Malayalam Cinema after a long gap with oppam. Anusree performs well in the role of ACP Ganga. The child artist Baby Meenakshi, who rose to fame with the blockbuster movie Amar Akbar Anthony appears as the daughter of Jayaraman (Mohanlal). Samuthirakani has delivered a power-packed performance as the antagonist.
Music has done by debutant composers Jim, Biby, Eldhose and Justine of 4 Music. All the songs are surely memorable. Background score by debutant John Ethan Yohannan deserves a great applause. Editing by M.S Ayyappan Nair is perfect.
Overall, Oppam is a Must watch Family Thriller in all aspects.
