STORY: Pari ( Hetal Gada) has only one dream from life. She wants her little brother Chotu ( Krrish Chhabria) to once again have his eyesight back.
The kids are being brought up by their Chacha-Chachi. While the Chacha is loving, he is a good for nothing soul and it is the Chachi who is the bread winner for the family. She is not very fond of the kids and vice versa.
Pari and Chotu are huge fans of Bollywood and one of their biggest arguing point always remains to be that little Chotu is a Salman Khan fan where as Pari loves the romantic Shah Rukh Khan.
When Pari comes across a banner of Shah Rukh Khan promoting eye donation, she decides to meet him at his Jaisalmer shoot and request him to help Chotu and she has promised her brother that before his 9th birthday she will bring his eye sight back by getting him operated at a big hospital for which she needs lot of money.
Thus the kids take on a journey all by themselves. Will Pari’s dream come true? Will Shah Rukh help the kids?
REVIEW: ‘Dhanak’ meaning rainbow, is a must-watch for a brilliant act by the little ones in the lead. It’s a road movie. Beautiful landscapes of Rajasthan, the culture, people everything they have tried to cover.
Krrish Chabbria who played the character chotu as an impaired guy is much lovable and also Hatel Gada who played the role of Pari tried to give a stellar performance. She played the emotional scenes much perfectly. Both children played their characters very well and the relationship between brother and sister is heartening.
Nagesh kukunoor is once again conveying a beautiful story with us filled with hope to share something meaningful about life's journey. The narrative has been beautifully pieced together that Nagesh Kukunoor doesn't take much time to get to the point.
The second half did seem a bit slow in comparison to the first. And the backstory of chotu loses his eyesight is hard to understand. The makers could have worked more in that area. But these elements do not hinder the flow of the story of its magic.
